Importance of Oral Care- Australian Dental health Week 2019
Australian Dental Association (ADA) has announced a week starting from the 5th of August as the Dental Health Week of Australia. Also, this is an annual event marked in the Australian calendar. Furthermore, this is to communicate the message of the Importance of Oral Care not only to fellow Australians but to the entire world. Therefore, We joined hands with ADA to increase awareness among the community about how important is to maintain healthy oral health.

These key messages all tie into the 2019 theme of Dental Health Week. “How’s Your Oral Health Tracking?”. With alarming statistics showing that 65% of Australians haven’t visited the dentist in the last 2 years.
According to The Australian Dental Health Plan (ADHP) 2019
- Over 4 in 10 children aged 5–10 (42%) have experienced tooth decay in their primary (‘baby’) teeth; almost
one-quarter of children aged 6–14 (24%) have had decay in their permanent teeth; - Over 1 in 4 (26%) of young Australians and adults aged 15 and over have untreated dental decay; and
- Over 50% of Australians over the age of 65 years have gum disease or periodontitis; almost 1 in 5 (19%) of this
the age group has complete tooth loss.
Need for an increase in oral health awareness is needed now more than ever. Also, we must not think that this is only the job of ADA or health care professionals (HCPS). We all should corporate and join hands to spread this news to you across the nation. Create conversations with your family neighborhood, and Friends among your chat groups. we all can be silent heroes.
Tips to Better Oral Health.
- Brush your teeth every day twice daily. Similarly, If Possible consistently after every meal.
- Use a sugar-free mouth wash. Further, This keeps the mouth fresh /removes the tinny Food particles & inhibits some growth factors of bacteria
- Use fluoride-based toothpaste & Mouthwash as it helps to prevent tooth decaying or cavities
- Brush your teeth after high- Sugary desserts and sugary products
- floss your teeth and also, Use an appropriate Dental floss pick )
- Bypass sugary food & Similarly, add a healthy diet to your daily meal habits
- Having scheduled dental appointments
- Avoiding constant snacking
- Quit smoking.
