There are multiple nursing bodies that represent the field of nursing within Australia. These range from locally based associations specialising in a certain field of nursing, to broader nursing bodies operating at a national scale. SAPNA – South Australian Perioperative Nurses Association
The SAPNA operates at a state-wide level, representing perioperative nurses throughout South Australia. A member of the national organisation ACORN (Australian College of Perioprative Nurses), SAPNA key goals include pursuing educational and professional development of perioperative nurses. ANMF – Australian Nursing and Midwifery Association
The ANMF is the largest operating professional nursing and midwifery union within Australia. Working through their eight nationwide branches, the ANMF works to ensure the best professional, political and social interests of approximately 275,000 Australian nurses and midwives. Australian College of Nursing
The Australian College of Nursing specialise in advancing nurse leadership to enhance the health care of all Australians. Through offering scholarships, events and higher education services for members, The Australian College of Nursing provide a collective voice for those within the field of nursing in Australia.
